Therefore, in appreciating Him, we are exploring the benefits of one of the natural gifts which is; THE TREE.


Tree; An Indispensable Natural Gift


A Tree is a tall plant that can live a long time. It has a thick central wooden trunk from which branches grow, usually with leaves on them. The National Forest Inventory (IFN) defines a tree as a woody plant that has a bare stem at its base and can grow to a height greater than or equal to 5m when it reaches maturity. It consists of root, stem, branches, leaves, and flowers. Trees are of immense importance to human, society and country at large. Here are some usefulness showing the indispensability of trees.

Basically, trees provide oxygen for human beings. During photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce the oxygen for breathing. It has a way of changing the atmosphere from heat to a cool environment. It serves as a shade for relaxation and enjoying of fresh air.

Provision of food is also one of the basic importance of trees. Woods gotten from trees can be used for cooking. It also provides different kinds of fruits and nuts for human consumption in aiding healthy growth. Not only that, some trees especially the barks and leaves can provide medicine for various ailments.

As we all know, trees are for aesthetic purposes. They beautify houses, schools, places of worship, recreational centres, communities and so on. Through this, they can serve as means of tourism thereby boosting the economy of a country.

Also, trees serve as a means of livelihood. It provides jobs and employment for quite a number of people. Growing, managing, studying, cultivating, and selling of trees has brought about subsistence for human beings.

In all, the essentiality of trees cannot be exhausted. They are blessing to humanity, therefore, human beings must learn to protect and spread the awareness of how vital trees are to humanity.

Now that you have more knowledge about how beneficial trees are to humanity, always appreciate the Creator whenever you see one!

There was an event that brought about this topic. On a sunny afternoon, I heard someone shouting in a shop. It was a voice of a woman. The shout was that of a profuse cry. Then, I listened carefully so as to be sure of what the cry was all about. She started mumbling words in-between her cry. These words were mixture of regrets and curses; "If I had known, I wouldn't have brought my phone here to charge. The person that stole my phone will never know peace..." She was raining so much curses that I can't even write here.  By this time, people had already move closer to her to ask what exactly the problem was.
