SEPARATE AND EMBRACE
Gradually, we are moving into the new year. This will be the last post for the year. I'm really grateful for how far we've been doing this together. You are loved.π
Today, I want to share what I learnt from this year Christmas (Lesson from the hensπ
).
In my house, we started rearing six hens (broilers) around May or August. These hens are very stubborn! If you want to feed them or move close to their pen, they would peck at your feet. You can not even play with them if they are outside their pen. Mum and Dad have suffered injuries from their pecking. Trust me, you cannot see me near them expect they are in their pen.π They play together and speak to one another ( more of making noise). Their company is actually a good one to behold.
Towards Christmas, one was given out, and three were killed. Then, we were left with two. As usual, I went to their pen to greet the remaining two, and I noticed that something has gone wrong. The energy we do see in their company is gone! The two were so silent that you won't know that there is a living thing there. They were not making noise as usual. In fact, they were not as "joyful" as they used to be when they were still a company of six.
What did I derive from this?
Ruminating over the scenario, I realized that as much as there are some companies you should separate yourself from, there are some that you need. The two hens lose their energy because they have lost the company of the other four.
Watch carefully to know the ones that give you energy; the ones that encourages you to do the right things. Don't lose those that sharpen their irons with yours; the ones with the aura of intelligence and creativity.
Separate yourself from bad companies that always silence you, that encourage you to do bad things, and are negative to your growth, development, and progress.
Ponder on the kind of friends you have. Shed off the bad ones, but embrace the good ones.
Make God and godly people your company.
Happy New Year in advance.π€
It's a year of fulfilled promises!
